The highlights of this year’s Garden Tour included a “hidden treasure,” a spectacular home listed as a unique village colonial overlooking lovely Northport Harbor. In 1899, this was the original Northport Yacht Club. Roses abounded at another stop on the tour, a Federalist brick home built in 1925 by author Arthur B. Reeve whose character was known as the American Sherlock Holmes. In nearby Fort Salonga, visitors were treated to viewing a fabulous garden belonging to a former Newsday garden columnist and editor.
