The History of Our Main Street

Our Main Street’s history is one of unwavering transition. Main Street has served as a hub for commerce, a bastion for economic development, a sanctuary for our houses of worship, an inspirational backdrop to the arts, and a pathway for celebrations.

The History of Our Main Street exhibit tells the stories of our village and its people dating back to the 18th Century. Walk back in time along Main Street from its early beginnings to modern day and explore the history of each building in our popular diorama and more.

Open now through September 2025

Members Only Exhibit Reception: Friday, November 15, 2024- 6:30 PM

Winter is Coming

As summer fades and the days shorten, autumn ushers in the crisp air and welcomes winter, turning the Northport harbor frigid and icy. The harbor of the early 1900s became a frozen arena for ice skating, festivals, sledding, and daring adventures. Snowfalls created enormous embankments, and blizzards shut down our village.

This exhibit explores the wonder of the winter season and the entrancing nostalgia it summons under a blanket of snow.

On View October 1, 2024 through December 31, 2024

Exhibit Reception: Tuesday, December 17, 2024- 6 PM
