STILL IN LOVE

On View February 1, 2025 - March 31, 2025

STILL IN LOVE, these words are spray-painted on a Bayview Avenue sidewalk. Some stories say the words appeared in 1984, while others claim they were painted as far back as 1964. Adding even more intrigue, the message has been repainted through the years, keeping it bright and fresh. The identity of the artist, past and present, remains a mystery.

The documentary film by Director Storm Choi and Producer Fred Beteille is an exploration of love, focusing on the stories among the town’s people as well as penning a love letter to the village. It is a journey to discover what is behind the three words that have declared its love on concrete for decades.

The exhibit enters this realm of a cherished yet elusive part of our Northport history, exploring love letters from the 1920s, lyrics & poetry, Valentines, and the graffiti on our street. These markings and proclamations of love, why do we do them, what do they mean, and who are they for?

The History of Our Main Street

Our Main Street’s history is one of unwavering transition. Main Street has served as a hub for commerce, a bastion for economic development, a sanctuary for our houses of worship, an inspirational backdrop to the arts, and a pathway for celebrations.

The History of Our Main Street exhibit tells the stories of our village and its people dating back to the 18th Century. Walk back in time along Main Street from its early beginnings to the modern day and explore the history of each building in our popular diorama and more.
