The Northport Historical Society and Museum has always aimed to be a welcoming space for all visitors, but an essential issue has been overlooked for too long. The need for an entrance, along with an ADA-compliant bathroom, to accommodate visitors with mobility issues has been a long-time goal of ours. We are thrilled to be able to announce that we have received a 50% matching grant from the Robert D.L. Gardiner Foundation to bring this goal to fruition.
We'd also like to thank the following members of our community for contributing funds towards the 50% match:
Michael and Kathleen Dowling
Steven and Lisa Ragdowski
Dennis and Wendy Tannenbaum
Robert and Priscilla Hughes
Ted Kaplan and Henry Tobin
The Asharoken Garden Club
Steven and Susan Eckers
Ellen McLaughlin

The renovation of the entrance and restroom facilities is an investment in both the present and future of our community. It is an investment in inclusivity and the enduring mission of the Northport Historical Society and Museum to preserve our shared heritage with everyone.
Thank you!

Interior Work on the new restroom has begun!
