Access for All Project

The Northport Historical Society and Museum has always aimed to be a welcoming space for all visitors, but an essential issue has been overlooked for too long. The need for an entrance that is accessible to people with disabilities, along with an ADA-compliant bathroom to accommodate visitors with mobility issues has been a long-time goal of ours. We are thrilled to be able to announce that we have received a 50% matching grant from the Robert D.L. Gardiner Foundation to bring us closer than ever to accomplishing this goal. We are nearly there!

We are asking the community we serve to help us make The Northport Historical Society and Museum accessible to all by contributing what you can towards the grant's matching requirement.

The renovation of the entrance and restroom facilities is an investment in both the present and future of our community. It is an investment in inclusivity and the enduring mission of the Northport Historical Society and Museum to preserve our shared heritage with everyone. We ask for your support to help make this vision a reality, ensuring that the Northport Historical Society continues to be a place where all are welcome to experience, learn, and celebrate history.

Thank you!
